About Department

The Department of Computer Science Engineering was established in the year 1998-99. The department is accredited by National Board of Accreditation. The Department has been continuously making progress inteaching-learning process. The Department is committed to create a culture that encourages technological innovation and exploration of the latest advances in the rapidly changing field of Computer Science.

The Department offers Graduate and Post Graduate Programmes for :-

  • Engage in professional practice of computer systems engineering and software systems engineering
  • Promote the development of innovative systems and solutions using hardware and software integration

To achieve academic excellence in Computer Science Engineering by imparting in depth knowledge to the students, facilitating research activities and cater to the ever changing industrial demands and societal needs.

Data Structure Lab :
  • In this lab, students will do practical of data structure and algorithms.
  • They will know how to implement some useful data structures and use them to implement a simple algorithm.
  • This exercise will help us to explore the effect of data structures on the complexity of the algorithm and also understand the details involved in creating data structures from scratch.
  • Also, we shall implement the similar algorithms using C and C++, which implements a more sophisticated version of data structures.
OOPS Lab (Java/C++) :
  • In this lab, students will do practical of data object-oriented programming in Java and C++ languages.
  • The lab consists of different steps in which you practice concepts of OOP such as:
  • Classes and instances Message sending, Polymorphism, Inheritance, Instance variables and class variables (static variables), Methods and class methods (static methods), Encapsulation and "information hiding" (protecting implementations), Visibility modifiers private, protected, public etc.
UML Lab :
  • In this lab, students will do practicals of Unified Modeling Language (UML), which is a visual modeling language that enables system builders to create blueprints that capture their visions in a standard, easy-to-understand way, and provides a mechanism to effectively share and communicate these visions with others.
  • UML Lab is the first Modelling IDE to seamlessly combine modelling and programming with an intuitive UML diagram editor and next-gen round-trip engineering.
  • Import your software project and get a nice overview via UML within seconds.
DBMS Lab :
  • This lab purpose to impart the basic knowledge of DBMS and its characteristics, advantages, disadvantage, application understanding and Database programming with structured query language database softwares ORACLE11g, MySQL and SQL-Server 2005 etc.
  • Students will become familiar with SQL and its use in DBMS.
  • For this lab, the students can choose Microsoft Windows Platform and Developer for form designing.
Computer Graphics and Multimedia Lab :
  • In this lab purpose to impart the basic understanding of the fundamental graphic operations.
  • 2D and 3D images & implementation on the computer system for various hardware display devices in different formats.
  • Students will get the knowledge of the multimedia and animation through programming tools and they will acquire knowledge of projection work and benefits of the projection in the pin hole camera.
Design & analysis of Algorithm Lab :
  • The main goal of this lab to introduce the students with Algorithms for estimation of time & space complexity.
  • Learning and applying key algorithms in the programs with C and C++ Language.
  • In this lab we will explore a number of key factors and considerations relevant to these problems and solutions through programming.
  • The Design and Analysis of Algorithms lab is designed to give broad coverage rather than depth.
Project Lab :
  • In this lab students will understand the basic need of project management and matrices, role of project scheduling, risk management, quality planning, project execution, monitoring, control and closure for software projects
  • They will learn about various estimation for project planning process, software project, objects oriented project and agile development.
  • Students will develop their projects based on recent engineering applications for live industrial exposure.
Network Lab :
  • In this lab students know about computer networking hardware and programming for networking in wired and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
  • This lab contains wireless NIC and access point, where student simulate different network algorithms using NS2, NS3 tools for windows and Linux OS environment.
  • Students will do their practical and hand on exercise and they will develop minor project based on learning.
Operating System Lab :
  • In this lab students do simulations on operating system applications to design an operating system with efficient use of hardware and the available resources.
  • Students will acquire knowledge of operating system, components, application programs and their interaction with the computer hardware.
  • Student will be able to get the knowledge of operating system applications and they will develop some minor projects.
Advance Computing Lab :
  • This lab is used to research and development purpose with advance computing software as MATLAB, NS3 etc. R & D activities in the Department started from its very inception.
  • This lab facilitates faculty members to do their research projects funded by national and international agencies.
  • Students do their research projects with the supervision of project guide at B.Tech. and M.Tech. level. Advance computing lab brings together those who recognize the need for IT innovation and those who can apply their research expertise to deliver solutions, enriching our students’ learning environment at the same time.

Course Details

Structure and Duration : Following program is run by the IET Alwar and is available for the student of India & Abroad.

  • B.Tech. (Morning / Evening) - 4 Years
  • B.Tech. (Lateral Entry) - 3 Years
  • M.Tech - 2 Years

The B.Tech and M. Tech program is for both the morning and evening shift. Evening shift is beneficial for the students who are in job and have no time during the day.

Graduation & Degree : Students who have successfully completed all examinations of their selected course will be awarded by the Rajasthan Technical University, Kota.

  • Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) in Computer Science & Engineering
  • Master of Technology (M. Tech.) in Computer Science & Engineering
  • Master of Technology (M. Tech.) in Software Engineering

Entry Requirement :

  • B.Tech. (Morning / Evening) : The minimum qualification is 10+2 (Class XII) with 45%(General Category) and 40% for (SC,ST Category) and with the subject group Physics & Mathematics as Compulsory subjects and Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Sc. and Biology as optional subject (anyone of the optional subjects) of any recognized Board or any other equivalent recognized examination.
  • B.Tech. (Lateral Entry) : The minimum qualification is Diploma in Engineering (Polytechnic) and 10% seats are reserved to take admission in third semester directly.
  • M.Tech. : Minimum qualification is B. Tech or Equivalent degree or M. Sc from any recognized university or Institution.
